The North Dakota Department of Health strives to keep residents informed of what actions they can take in the event a family member or someone they know isn’t being properly cared for in an adult assisted living facility. Cases of malnutrition, physical and verbal abuse, neglect, etc. all need to be reported immediately to the North Dakota Department of Health. You can contact them by one of two ways:

When you elect to place your family member in one of these facilities, they are obligated to abide by state regulations along with those of their individual facility. When they fail to do so, which many do, you need to be proactive and make every attempt to get this person and/or facility recognized for their wrongdoing.
